After a long lockdown winter broken interspersed with club Zoom meetings we are finally allowed to travel to the coast. Despite shared hospitality still under restrictions some of us were prepared to make a long day dash to get our first diving of the season in the sea.
It seemed rude not to make the most of beautiful sunny conditions and with strong Easterlies a shallow shore dive at Chesil Cove was an ideal option and it didn’t disappoint ! The smiles on the divers say it all, even after the climb up the steep pebble bank.
Underwater we were lucky to see a couple of greater pipefish.
Also spotted were an undulate ray hiding in the sand,
an orange clubbed nudibranch (sea slug)
and a Decorator crab
There was a Spider crab on the wreckage of the Preveza and male corkwing wrasse flitting about protecting their nests and we couldn’t complain about the visibility either !
